Glastonbury Festival vs Boogaloop, Bogota 2011 Dance Battle

Fairtunes and ArcSpace Manchester's Generate Project have joined forces to offer a unique event at this year's Glastonbury Festival. On the closing night of the festival, revellers can take part in a live online dance battle between the UK and Colombia.

There will be sections of battle in traditional Latino styles, and for those who prefer more urban, breaks and hip-hop fused styles we will also have a Latino street section. The danceoffs will feature both audience members and professional participants to make sure everyone is involved in this low carbon intercultural party experience.

For those who might feel a bit daunted by the thought of making up some moves, have no fear! We have three rehearsal sections during the weekend so you can participate in the danceoff and learn some moves for the battle...

Saturday 25th
 Rehearsals 3-5pm The Lost Picture Show Tent (Salsa, mambo, cumbia, traditional)
Sunday 26th
 Rehearsals 1-3pm Zona Bassline (Salsa, mambo, cumbia, traditional)
Sunday 26th
 Rehearsals 3-5pm Zona Bassline (Urban Latino breaks and beats)
Sunday 26th
 Live streamed Dance off 7-9.30pm Zona Bassline (Dress to impress)

Audience members and anyone who watches the stream can vote for the winners through our Twitter feeds. There will be prizes for the winning dancers. We will also be screening interviews from Fairtunes artists and a live stream link up with Systema Solar.Artists and DJs include Atlantic Sound Machine, DJ Fresh, Di Ian Fletcher, Movimiento DJs, Refugee Radio Orchestra, Pulenta, Mateo Rivano, VJ eefee and special guests.
