Celebrity collaborations are one of the most exciting events that almost everyone looks forward to in a year. It’s an opportunity for most celebrities to step out of their comfort zone and try out something new and probably different from the line of work they are used to. It opens a window for brands to target loyal fan-based celebrities to promote brand awareness and increase customer interest.
Imagine what the name Beyonce or Kendrick Lamar in association with your brand could do for the brand image. Celebrities also create brands and collaborate with other celebrity brands to boost sales and popularity.
In the past year, our blogs were blessed with the news of some of the most intriguing celebrity collaborations. As a recap, here are some of the most talked-about celebrity/brand collaborations of last year.

The year is just starting, and by next week we will be rounding off the first quarter of 2022. Here are a few collaborations that have happened between celebrities in the past two months.
CARDI B AND REEBOK
This collaboration is the perfect combination of cardi B’s vibrant personality and Reebok’s street style. Drawing some inspiration from Cardi B’s home of NYC night, the collaboration comes with new metallic Cardi B classic Leather sneakers and a new apparel line.
This simply pays homage to the bright and vibrant city lights, coupled with the beautiful and poetic skylines of New York that represent her rise to stardom.
PRADA AND ADIDAS
In 2019, these two giant celebrity brands first announced they were teaming on a long-term collaboration. This year’s Re-Nylon collection, gives a new interpretation of each brand’s aesthetic codes, giving us a perfect blend of the Italian brand’s craftsmanship with Adidas’ sportswear heritage. This is the third collection launched by both brands since they made the reveal in 2019.
Through the use of the Re-Nylon textile, this new step of the collaboration has led to the transformation of the iconic Adidas Originals Forum Silhouette, both in high and low versions by Prada.
Other features of the recreated sneakers include; a removable Prada mini-pouch attachment, forefoot leather overlay, etc, and are available in monochromatic black and white colorways. Some other reworked apparels range from track coats, sweaters, tracksuits, hooded jackets, tops, to Prada’s signature bucket hat and bags, expertly made by Prada’s artisans in Italy, using the Adidas branding.
The companies announced that part of their aim for the collaboration is “to bring brands and people together in a radically inclusive manner”.
GUCCI AND SUPERPLASTIC
Superplastic is one of the world’s leading creators of animated celebs, digital collectibles, and vinyl toys. They recently welcomed Gucci into their family in anticipation of a riveting fashion collaboration in 2022.
The announcement was made via Superplastic’s Instagram page with a gif, waves of lilac, orange and yellow with their logo alongside Gucci’s. The collaboration has been made official, and fans of both brands anticipate excitedly when it will go live.
BAILMAN AND BARBIE
Barbie has, at one point or another, influenced our childhood, especially the females. This interesting fashion collaboration features Balman, a luxury fashion house coming together with a fashion doll “Barbie”.
The ready-to-wear collection plans on connecting the physical and digital worlds. With brands like this now stepping into the digital space, it will be exciting to see how this collaboration pans out.
